ARKTIK – The Institute for the Future is non-profit arts organization whose mission is to produce socially engaged art projects that will give voice to both ideas and people who are not well-heard. Our activity originates in Croatia and plan to spread all over the world.
ARKTIK is a symbol of inhumanity towards the planet and civilization, it is a reflection on how people treat nature and life in general. Also, it is the last bit of hope for humankind, and at the same time the announcement of the apocalypse that will follow if we do not care about it. We are the ARKTIK, and just like it, our values are melting — cultural, human and civilizational.
The artistic organization ARKTIK has been launched by the award-winning multidisciplinary artist who expresses herself via various pseudonyms, who through her works that she creates in the fields of contemporary dance, experimental theater, performance and sound, painting and poetry, video and music, speaks out about society on a global and micro level.
ARKTIK’s mission:
- to produce socially aware works of art,
- to encourage and strengthen voices that are not well-heard,
- to communicate with different audiences,
- to expand the audience readiness to think about the world through art.
ARKTIK’s goal is to explore:
- minorities of all categories and diverse discriminations,
- equality of all people,
- the right to dignified medical treatment for people of all ages,
- illumination of false democracy, systems of power, and decision-making,
- the need for equitable distribution of resources, and the harm and redundancy of the idea of property and possession,
- the need to care for the environment and preserve the planet,
- the right of the animals to life and freedom.
Why?
- Because art can illuminate the world.
Where and with whom?
We are the citizens of the world and the world is our team.
We will conduct our projects at small local levels, but we shall also connect with international collectives, individuals and currents.
How?
Using modern technologies and innovative approaches to performing and visual arts, our art, despite engaging in serious topics, will be interesting, fun and intriguing.
We will explore artistic possibilities in the field of virtual reality, use robotics and innovative technical solutions in cooperation with technical and IT faculties as an inexhaustible source of innovation, combine artists from different fields to achieve the interweaving of visual, stage and sound art, music and performance, sculpture and videos.
The environment in which ARKTIK works
The environment in which we create art is mostly composed of entertainment, popular culture and fine art. Our competitors, but in fact, those who talk about the world and the necessary changes, are few and far from the wide audience and the media. ARKTIK, by entering into such an environment, wants to move its focus towards the higher visibility of these people.
Users
Led by the principle that art should be accessible for all, we will organize workshops for unskilled people and experts, persons with and without disabilities, and therefore show that everyone can express their attitudes about the world through the arts.

Our vision is that our audience can become any person who loves this world and who cares about lasting change for the better. Our audience can be your audience.
